About Karan

Karan Pandey builds the technology for a digital economy, and then the businesses that run on it.

He trained as a software engineer, completing a Master of Computer Applications at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology, and spent his early career as a blockchain developer. That work covered protocol design, consensus mechanisms and security patterns across networks such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ripple, Stellar and Electroneum, along with dApps and Solidity smart contracts for token launches.

In 2019 he founded Ecrox. Ecrox Chain, a zero-gas-fee Layer 1 built on delegated proof of stake, went live on mainnet in September 2023. Around it Karan has assembled Ecrox Group of Companies: 25 companies, made up of 22 operating companies in four divisions and three group entities, each serving its own customers while sharing one technology platform, security and talent.

How Karan builds

The ideas behind the way Ecrox is put together.

Platform first

Build the chain, then the businesses that run on it. Ecrox Chain came before every company in the group.

Remove the friction

Zero gas fees, so people use the product without thinking about the cost of each transaction.

Secure by default

A dedicated security company in Hylox Security, and independent review of the core contracts.

Many businesses, one platform

Twenty-five Ecrox companies sharing technology, security and talent, so each new one starts further ahead.
